Ethnographic excursion to Ust-Orda village

The village is located in the Kuda river valley (Angara river tributary), in Ust-Ordynsky Buryat Okrug of Irkutsk Oblast. Ust-Orda is surrounded by long ranges of hills from the West and the East, with the approximate height of hills being 700 meters.  This is an extraordinary and amazing view.  About 3km from the village there is a mountain called Bulen, which up until today is famous for its religious and sacred practices of the Buryat people.

  • Departure to Ust-Orda Buryat settlement 70 km from Irkutsk
  • Visit to the ethnographic Museum in Ust-Orda. Here you will get acquainted with the culture and customs of one of the most ancient peoples of Siberia – Buryats.
  • Meeting with the shaman. The rite of purification.
  • Lunch (optional) – dishes of Buryat cuisine.
